Last Thursday, with two cars loaded with LIMBC goodies and a team of eight, we took a trip up north to Hatyai, Thailand for the Hatyai MTB Jamboree 2015. A big shout out to the event organiser for allowing us to set up a booth at their Jamboree.
After close to 10 hours of on-the-road adventure (and a very sore bottom), we finally made it to our hotel!
Greeted by a familiar gesture - Sawadeeka
Hatyai may be known for its warm hospitality but that did not stop us from being lazy or slacking off. Before 10am, we have a fully functioning booth with a TV and backdrops, and a team ready to deliver.
Hard at work
After setting up, half of the team went to the Hatyai Municipality Park for a reccee of tomorrow’s event (Hatyai MTB Jamboree) while the other half stayed back and admire the fat bikes Singaporean riders brought in… we mean stayed back to manage the LIMBC booth…
Cool wheels bro
Throughout the day, we met some old friends and made new ones. It was really nice to see so many Malaysians at a foreign land and hearing the familiar accent makes us wonder, “Are we at home?”
Thumbs up for LIMBC
Register register! Early bird gets the worm!
Early evening, the team splits again and one half went to check out a really really cool (we couldn’t emphasise enough) bike store located just a couple of kilos away from the hotel.
Bike store + Garage + Cafe + Bike care & Service + Workshop all under one roof
The shop owner was more than happy to put up our flyers and stickers at her store and actually requested us to brief her about the event so she can promote it to her customers
Exchanging culture and making new friends
D-day is here and we got up even earlier despite the late night work (yes work!) yesterday. We swiftly set up our booth and sent the riders off to their Hatyai off-road adventure
Our tiny yet complete booth
After an hour or so, the first rider passed through the finishing gantry and a flock of riders follow suit. It was really interesting to see how people park their bikes. Some chose to form some sort of formation with their club members, some lined it up nicely on the ground, while some scattered around like an abstract painting.
The circle of bikes
We wrapped up shortly after that, and that concludes our Hatyai Jamboree adventure (also marks the beginning of our Hatyai foodie adventure)
Once again, we would like to thank the organiser of the Hatyai MTB Jamboree 2015 for the opportunity to be part of this event!
Kapunka!!!
