1. What are the entry fees?

The full package entry fee for LIMBC 2015 is USD1100.00 for international participants, RM300.00 for Malaysian riders. While USD 800 for the supporters package

2. Why is there a difference in charges between International and Malaysian packages?

USD1100.00 is for the International package which entitles the participant to race entry fee, 10 nights hotel accommodation (15th – 25th October 2015), for the meals (Breakfast : 16th to 25th Oct 2015, Lunch : 16th to 24th Oct 2015, Dinner : 15th to 23rd Oct 2015) , welcome dinner and farewell party and airport transfer. RM300.00 for Malaysian riders (Malaysian Citizens and PR resident only) is for race entry, goodies and lunch ONLY and does not include accommodation. Malaysian riders wishing to enjoy the same benefits and arrangements offered in the international package are also eligible to purchase at USD800.00 fee. BOTH packages represent great value for money and by far offer a better cost/experience value than any other comparable event. Besides, RM90 is for the Jamboree package is for Jamboree race entry including goodies bag and lucky draw.

3. Do I need to have a valid license to compete?

A valid license issued by the National Federation of your home country is required and compulsory for each rider to produce in order to participate in LIMBC 2015. All participants must produce their original license & identification card/ passport during registration. Any riders without a valid license wishing to participate MUST purchase a temporary license issued by the Malaysian National Cycling Federation (MNCF) at a cost of RM20.00 which is valid for the entire race period only. Available at race registration.

4. If I have entered and paid, but can’t ride any longer for whatever reason… can I ask for a refund?

No Refunds, No exceptions. No Substitutions.

5. When do the entries close?

LIMBC: 1st September 2015

UCI MTB Marathon: 1st September 2015

Jamboree Langkawi: 1st September 2015

6. When and where do I collect my race number / officially sign-on registration?

UCI MTB Marathon Series: At Langkawi Sport Complex between 9.00am-11.00am on Friday 10th Oct 2014

Jamboree Langkawi: At Langkawi Sport Complex between 3.00pm-6.00pm on Friday 10th Oct 201

LIMBC: At Langkawi Sport Complex between 9.00am-12.00pm on Sunday 12th Oct 2014

7. Will there be a race briefing?

Yes, a race briefing, rider and team manager meeting as follows:

UCI MTB Marathon Series: At Langkawi Sport Complex between 11.00am-1.00pm on Friday 10th Oct 2014

LIMBC: At Langkawi Sport Complex between 12.00pm-1.30pm on Sunday 12th Oct 2014

8. What are the start times of the races?

All race timings and schedules will be posted on this website nearer to the event. However, the organisation of LIMBC reserves the right to change race schedules on the day subject to weather conditions or any other unavoidable circumstances.

9. Will there be prize money for the winners?

Yes and lots of it! Please refer to the Prizes column of the website. Cash prize money is in US Dollars for all categories and paid on the final day of the race. There’ll also be other random goodies and prizes on offer so give it your best no matter what your ability is!

10. Other prizes or lucky draws?

There will be a ‘not to be missed’ main Lucky Draw event after the Fun Ride/Jamboree Ride event held on the 17th Oct 2015.

11. How do we register for the race?

Register at this website www.limbcmalaysia.com by completing the online registration process with secure online payment method (using a valid VISA or MasterCard).  Debit transfer is also acceptable provided proof of payment together with the copy of receipt with name written. All instructions are stated in the Registration column of the website.

13. What is the weather and climate like in October?

Temperature rarely fluctuates throughout the year. Warm/hot and humid, with temperatures ranging from 25c to 34c. Possible rain can occur during October (trust us, you’ll be glad for it!).

14. What is the course like?

It’s hell… you’ll love it! A challenging mix of single track village roads, technical trails set in a tropical rainforest in Langkawi.

16. How do we get to Langkawi?

Langkawi has an international-status airport, with daily flights from the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA). There are also flights from Penang to Langkawi, Singapore to Langkawi and vice-versa. Flights are available with Malaysia Airlines, AirAsia and Silk Air with other major airlines such as Emirates and KLM offering inclusive connecting flights to Langkawi on all their routes to Kuala Lumpur. Ferry services are also available to and from Penang, Kuala Perlis and Kuala Kedah. Also from Satun, Thailand. Ferry terminal is located at Jetty Point, Kuah town.

17. How do I get around Langkawi?

Most days the start line is within short riding distance of the event hotels. Outside of the race, there are many car/SUV, moped/scooter and bicycle rental around the island. For more info, visit this page.

18. Passport?

Valid passport is a must for entry into Malaysia and should be valid for a period of at least six months. Visas are not required if you are a citizen of Commonwealth countries (except India and Sri Lanka), most European countries, United States, Japan, South Korea, Bahrain, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Egypt, Morocco, North Yemen, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, United Arab Emirates and Turkey, provided your stay does not exceed three months.

If you are a citizen of the Republic of China, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Cuba, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, North Korea, Nepal, Myanmar, Taiwan and Vietnam, you must obtain a visa before entering Malaysia. You can get the visa from Malaysian Diplomatic Missions abroad or British Consulates which act for Malaysia in countries where no diplomatic representation of Malaysia is established.
